4 Practical Ways to Motivate You to Do Better
Getting started is the first big step but staying motivated to continue is just as important. If we want to achieve better results, we must stick to our plan no matter how difficult it gets. Motivation is what gives us a powerful boost to continue.
For us to do better, here are four practical methods to motivate you.
1. Preparation is key
Before you start a task or even your day, spare a few minutes to prepare. These few minutes will not only save you time and energy but also keeps your motivation pumping.
By preparing for your day, you are setting goals that will serve as your guide. It will ensure that you stay on track and achieve your tasks by the end of the course. Knowing that you’re on the right track can boost your motivation and help you stay focused on the tasks that truly matter.
By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.

2. Set your timer
It’s great to be in the workflow but without a set time, you will find yourself losing both motivation and productivity as you continue for long periods. Setting a time to remind yourself to take refreshing breaks can only benefit you. For those who are struggling to be in the flow, the time limit will act as a motivation. If you’re tackling tasks that are so overwhelming that you don’t even want to start, setting a time limit would help.
A relatable example might be when you’re studying for an exam. You don’t want to start because a semester’s worth of knowledge is waiting for you to take in, but you know you need to. First, set 10 minutes to familiarize yourself with the syllabus. It will also act as preparation so you know what you need to study and what you don’t. Once the 10 minutes are up, you’ll feel like the task might not be as daunting as you think. Knowing so can motivate you to continue and do better.

3. Track your progress
Now and then, you’ll come across tasks that you previously found difficult, but not so much anymore. That’s when you realize, “Wow, I’ve really grown”. By seeing the results in your growth, you become more motivated to continue and strive.
Keeping a journal or an app to track your progress is the perfect way for you to understand how much you’ve grown. Whenever you turn back to previous entries, you’ll see the progress you’ve made up until now. This will undoubtedly benefit you when you feel like you’re losing motivation.
4. Helping others can help you
Don’t be surprised when you notice the great lengths people go to help others! One of the biggest reasons is that it gives us purpose. It makes us feel good when we’re helping others. And most of the time, we’re rewarded with gratitude and appreciation.
Keeping in mind how satisfying it feels to help others, we can make use of this feeling to motivate us. You helping others can help you do better.
In Summary
By utilizing these four practical methods, you can motivate yourself to keep striving and achieve better results. Don’t forget to share it with your loved ones if it helped you! Let’s all stay motivated and reach new heights together.
