During my university years, like countless other students, I would participate in online surveys to earn a little pocket money. But every time the money gets wired to my bank account, without hesitation, I would immediately donate the money to various charities.
I’m sure most people would’ve spent it on themselves but I always felt like the best way to spend the money I earned from online surveys is to donate it because this made me way happier than that new pair of sneakers I could’ve bought or that popular game that just came out.
Luckily enough, I’m surrounded by amazing people who don’t share their achievements for fame or praise but to raise awareness. I have a friend who graduated from university recently with a double degree and decided that planting trees is her true calling. Another friend of mine joined the Great Cycle Challenge to help raise funds to fight kids’ cancer.
I don’t usually post about the donations I make on social media but I figured I should at least post them here to help encourage donations and raise awareness.
So here it is, a list of donations I’ve made and will continue to make.
June 2020: Earth Day
July 2020: teamtrees
August 2020: Lebanese Red Cross
September 2020: Great Cycle Challenge (my friend: Jenny)
October 2020: Feeding Hong Kong
November 2020: The Zubin Foundation
