Chocolate Cupcake Recipe
Time needed: Approx. 45 mins
Servings: 8 cupcakes
Ingredients
- 50 g dark chocolate
- 30 g sugar
- 25 g butter; melted
- 125 ml milk (at room temperature)
- ½ tsp vanilla essence
- 1 medium egg; beaten
- 150g self-raising flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- Chocolate chips (optional)
- Nutella (optional)
Method
1. Preheat oven to 200°C/400°F 15 minutes before baking
2. Melt dark chocolate and stir occasionally
3. Cool chocolate in a bowl
4. Stir sugar and butter into melted chocolate
5. Add milk, vanilla essence and egg to mixture
6. Sift in flour and baking powder
7. Fold mixture and stir in chocolate chips (optional)
8. Evenly divide mixture into 8 cupcake liners
9. Bake muffins in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes (until firm)
10. Spread Nutella over chocolate cupcake when slightly cooled (optional)
